“Stronger together in UNISON” and “When we march together we’re unstoppable” are the messages from November’s LGBT conference in Llandudno. Delegates looked back over a year that has seen the world turned upside down.

Key messages and outcomes from the Conference included:

  • called for zero tolerance of biphobia, taking forward the union’s work on intersex equality and best practice for people who are transitioning in the workplace.
  • welcomed the union’s new private contractors forum and stressed the need to continue organising in private companies, defending and fighting for rights for LGBT people
  • Dave Prentis assured that UNISON will stand with its LGBT members against discrimination, for as long as it takes
  • delegates celebrated the years recruitment and organising award winners
